Alisha+Matthew. Married. Finally.

5.21.22 | Take that, COVID. You tried, to keep these two, single. You failed. In fact, now, they are anything but single…’cause they got an adorable baby :). So, they’re probably almost never single. I know, I’m a parent, too. It’s great.

Anyway, let’s rewind. The year is 2019. And we meet at Black Sheep, for a beer, and an engagement shoot… who does that? jk…it was cute 😉

Then, a COVID derails the original scheduled program/wedding for 2020 and instead, we elope, in Montaña de Oro (not a bad backup plan IMHO).

This. Is how you do it.

Onto the next year…nevermind, let’s skip that (way to go 2021!)

And the grand finale, 2022: a barn burner…NO NO NO, it’s just an expression, please no flames near this historic/epic barn at Higuera Ranch ;). Anyway, the party. It’s at this moment that I, a wedding photographer, realize it’s my time to go. Celebrate one more night and say adieu. While Alisha & Matthew have their lives ahead of them (with a cute little baby, soooo cute), I’m no longer in it with them. After all this time.

It’s always bittersweet, this moment. But this time, over the course of 4 years, a journey that began with an engagement session in a pub, simpler times, and brings us to this moment, it’s just hard to say goodbye. See ya ’round, Alisha & Matthew <3

I’ll be OK. We had a good run. And we’ll always have the memories. So…many…memories (pictures). ❤️

Also, Dustin Wise (SLOtography) put together this special film from the day!

Meet the crew

Blake Andrews founded SLOtography in 2008 and now works alongside photographer James Lester and videographer Robin Ayers. Together, they bring more than 30 years of experience (and serious good vibes) to weddings and events throughout San Luis Obispo and the Central Coast.

Natalie & Jaron threw one of the most unforgettable weddings I’ve had the joy of capturing — a colorful, campy, non-traditional celebration at the iconic @madonnainn1958 that broke every mold in the best way possible. Think: a tattoo bar, a 1900s box camera photobooth, rhinestones, cowboy boots, floral his & her outfits and some serious line dancing magic…

There’s not enough space here to show it all >> venture to the blog (link in profile) for more :)
