The inaugural Eric’s run took place today in Orcutt, California. After running into Eric’s mother, Eilene Okerblum, and listening to the story of Eric, I was quick to offer my help. There were hundreds of people out to support the event, running, cheering, (photographing), etc.
Proceeds of the event, benefit the Eric Okerblom Foundation, whose mission is:
Combating distracted driving through education, legislation, and enforcement; promoting health care access to uninsured workers; and providing tools to the disadvantaged.
Congrats to all participants and volunteers for putting together an excellent event and a big congratulations to the winner of the race…mostly because he ran the whole thing barefoot while wearing a skirt.
