Emily+Ricky ~ Old Mission Wedding ~ San Luis Obispo, CA
Ricky ~ straight outta Italy + Emily, a SLOcal (of the great Tedone Family), get together to make one beautiful Italian family!
Of course, this day was filled with all of the great Italian delights: food, love, Italian (one of the great love languages), more food, family (lots of family), dessert…(the Italian/best kind), and dancing! I loved being a part of this celebration, as we started our day at the beautiful Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort in Avila Beach! The ladies getting ready in the beautiful suite with vivid green walls, a very calm & quiet setting within the beautiful Avila Valley. Ricky, the Italian groom, was kicked out of the bridal suite whilst the ladies (Emily’s mother & sister, along with Ricky’s mother & sister) were pampered. Ricky, may have felt a little left out, but he was accompanied by his father & little brother to sit amongst the beautiful sycamores while the day moved slowly along.
Soon, it was time for Ricky’s bride to be revealed ~ his reaction to seeing his beautiful bride was much as you’d expect from an Italian man ~ though I can’t quite understand what it was that he said to her, I know that it was accompanied by a big smile!
We made our way to the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, for an intimate & beautiful Mission Wedding ceremony in the historic catholic church. The two were married & emerged victorious, greeted by hugs and celebration from their new & improved family! The trek to the reception involved just one a few steps across the street to the recently updated Giuseppe’s! Guests were filled with wine & food, while celebrating the newlyweds. A few of the nights’ speeches were delivered in Italian, but it was clear that the cheer was shared by all. Miraculously, after several courses of amazing food ~ each and every person made their way to the dance floor for several hours of dancing ~ tunes would cycle between 2000 American pop and Italian music, and the dance floor remained steady. The celebration was perfect for these two ~ and I hope that the photos from the day help everyone to relive it!
