On a warm summer evening in downtown San Luis Obispo, Carlie + Phillip tied the knot in one of the city’s most vibrant and colorful spaces: Luna Red. Their wedding at Luna Red, held on August 16, 2025, was filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and a lively celebration surrounded by family and friends.
As a San Luis Obispo wedding photographer, I love when couples choose venues that reflect their personalities — and Luna Red couldn’t have been a more perfect backdrop for Carlie + Phillip’s day. An Intimate Downtown San Luis Obispo Celebration
Carlie + Phillip planned a small wedding with about 50 guests, creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The ceremony began at 5:30 PM, just as the golden California light streamed across the rooftops of downtown. Their vows were emotional and authentic, shared among their closest loved ones in a cozy courtyard setting.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and tapas-style plates — a signature Luna Red wedding experience. From the vibrant colors of the venue to the incredible food and warm community feel, their wedding at Luna Red truly embodied the essence of San Luis Obispo: welcoming, joyful, and unforgettable.
Photographing Carlie + Phillip’s Wedding
For Carlie + Phillip’s wedding, I provided a 3-hour wedding photography package, capturing the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the heart of their reception. Even with a shorter timeline, we created a complete visual story of their evening — from their first kiss as husband and wife to the laughter-filled toasts and dancing under the string lights.
One of my favorite parts of photographing a wedding at Luna Red is the variety of backdrops within walking distance. We slipped away for a few portraits around Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and the charming streets of downtown, giving Carlie + Phillip a gallery full of diversity — colorful, romantic, and timeless.
In total, their gallery included over 600 wedding photos — a rich collection that tells the story of their day from start to finish.
