La Cuesta Ranch Engagement ~ Kiera+Michael
Yesterday, I was prepared to drive up to the top of La Cuesta Ranch. For anyone who has ‘summited’ or trekked up to the Ridgeline in the Miossi Open Space, y’all know it offers views of the Cerros of San Luis Obispo that can’t really be seen or experienced elsewhere. It’s high, but it’s also close, to the former volcanoes. An intimate look at the geology that makes San Luis Obispo special.
But alas, we didn’t drive thru the gate…there was some Octoberfestivaling taking place and we instead polka’d our way thru a crowd of lederhosers, till the accordion music faded and the wind and babbling brooks of streams took over. We watched cattle graze & deer frolick amidst a backdrop of California gold. Kiera & Michael whispered sweet nothings to one another (and I’m pretty sure they literally whispered, “sweet nothings.”) and giggled just to appease me. And it all worked out. My boots came back delightfully muddy. Grasshoppers attacked my pant legs as I disturbed their habitat. And the calves practiced stampeding as we watched the last glimpse of pink fade away from twilight. We loaded into our cars and I was home in 2-1/2 mintues because traffic was kind of a mess last night.
Another fine day in this land we live…
Congratulations to Kiera and Michael ~ on their sweet little love story, and an exciting wedding upcoming in 2025, where we’ll be right back at La Cuesta Ranch (with a little different music in store)…
