This past weekend, I had the extreme pleasure of capturing a wedding in Tahoe. A first! I would’ve taken any opportunity to shoot here…for all of its glorious reasons: rivers, lake, snow topped mountains, endless clouds. But Tahoe made me wait. I’ve been coming here for 40+ years.
My family will tell you: it’s my happy place (and by association, their happy place, too. I hope). And after all those years of waiting, of prep, of admiration, of adoration…this past weekend, it happened. And it couldn’t have happened in a more magnificent way: with Ryan & Kevin. Fellow admirers of the great outdoors. Ambassadors of stoke. We ventured along the splendor of the Truckee River for a first look and vow exchange, a escapade amongst the Washeshu Creek valley for Wedding Party photos and a wedding in the pines of Skylandia Park (who knew such a place existed) with a reception underneath the full moon on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. If it sounds too magnificent, it’s because it was. The stillness and peace of the late twilight whilst the silent disco raged…
