Hannah+Josh ~ Congregation Beth David + SLO Brew Wedding ~ #aDiamontisforever 🙂

These two came to party, and of course, get married ;). This day was filled with celebration & rich with tradition. There was an intimate Ketubah signing taking place before the wedding ~ close family & friends convened to sign this beautiful document which includes witnesses & supporters of the union. The ceremony took place in the beautiful hall of the Congregation Beth David ~ filled with light. They exchanged Vows under the chuppah ~ a sweet first kiss and then of course, the breaking of glass, Mazel tov!

At this point, the party shifted gears (maybe a few gears) & we made our way to SLO Brew the Rock! Food, drinks, dance, PARTY! Featuring a saxophone player, electrical violinist, confetti canons and sweet dance moves left & right. The party was next level ~ the first party seen at the SLO Brew Rock! (we’ll see if we see another like it!)

Meet the crew

Blake Andrews founded SLOtography in 2008 and now works alongside photographer James Lester and videographer Robin Ayers. Together, they bring more than 30 years of experience (and serious good vibes) to weddings and events throughout San Luis Obispo and the Central Coast.

Or as we like to call it: our college reunion.

A bunch of buddies—now a few years out of college—coming together for a good cause: @rideataxia. While he might be a bit of a Barney, it’s always easy to show up for Kyle Bryant: a fierce athlete, a constant source of motivation, and since our days at UC Davis, one of my closest friends.

Most of my greatest adventures started with one of his wild, bone-headed ideas—and he’s been dragging me along ever since: New Zealand, the Race Across America, countless Ride Ataxias… to name a few. I’d bet many of you reading this have your own story of how you know Kyle Bryant. 😉

This past weekend, friends and FAmily (pun intended!) showed up in Avila Beach for the 2nd annual Ride Ataxia Hometown event—a fun cruise down the Bob Jones Trail to support the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (@curefa_org) 💙

Natalie & Jaron threw one of the most unforgettable weddings I’ve had the joy of capturing — a colorful, campy, non-traditional celebration at the iconic @madonnainn1958 that broke every mold in the best way possible. Think: a tattoo bar, a 1900s box camera photobooth, rhinestones, cowboy boots, floral his & her outfits and some serious line dancing magic…

A celestial celebration 🌕✨
Erica & Rob’s wedding at Swallow Creek Ranch was something out of a dream — a warm, pristine day with white-capped waves in the distance and a soft coastal breeze in the air. After 14 years together, they stood with their children, surrounded by family and friends, and promised forever.

2 hrs with Corina+John on wedding day

What magical sequence of choices and fates have led me to a place in life, where I might be invited into celebrations like these…each unique, and then some profoundly so, (like yesterday with Natalie & Jaron), leaves me in a daze of gratitude. If you’re like me, and you get a contact high from Joy, perhaps you may be best served to start up a wedding business on a whim…and then, maybe, just maybe, you’d find yourself attending some of the world’s greatest weddings featuring its most excellent natural creations (human & landscape). It may sound quite enticing, it may not, but whatever it is, it is work.

17 years in, each Sunday, I wake up thoroughly exhausted and what drags me out of bed…well, it is literally my daughter (Juniper, 4, a blessing for another post) but if it weren’t for her, I’d still by crawling to my computer to see what my camera absorbed from the night before. And if you’re like me, these images may incite some kind of feelings, maybe invite in a particular mood, and I hope that, (like mine), it’s a good one.

If this sounds like a level of commitment you don’t care to add to your life, at least during this go-round the sun, just follow along ;). I’ll continue until I lay down my camera and I…thanks for the constant inspiration, all you beautiful people.

This week, I’d like to spotlight the uniqueness, beauty and love of Natalie & Jaron <3.
