The morning of Courtney+Ryan’s Jack House Wedding the rain came down and the sky threatened to do much more…but “Then the rain let up and the sun came up and we were gettin’ dry…” and while the sun never really came out, there was plenty of shining going on.
Let’s back up…I first met Courtney & Ryan last August, when we ventured thru their ‘City’ (San Francisco) to collect some engagement photos. It was a beautiful day, we bonded over our love for the Giants as we cruised around AT&T Park on an off-day and we got to know each other a bit. Our time together continued well past the last picture taken at Lands End for Sunset, as the couple kissed with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. The two graciously offered to take me out to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants. It was a nice way to spend the evening, getting to know two genuinely beautiful people…not to mention the Yucatan cuisine complimented by some tasty margaritas! I talked with the two about their families and Courtney and I got to talk about growing up on the Central Coast, where just a few months later, these two would be tying the knot!
Fast forward to wedding day in San Luis Obispo, Ca. On one side of town, Ryan was getting suited with a little help from his groomsmen in a hotel…his brother & best man kept the mood light and I believe they took ‘a shot’ to take the edge off. Near the center of town, at the historic Jack House, Courtney was sliding on her wedding dress on her wedding day. The result was not surprisingly, a gorgeous bride. Guests slowly filed in, admired the beautifully-restored home and gardens, taking time to check out the beautiful details that had been re-arranged to stay dry in case of downpour. It was the calm after the actual storm and before the proverbial storm!…and then it was go-time.
From one beautiful moment to the next, the ceremony was classic and ended with a stoked-groom lifting his lighter-than-air bride high for a kiss ~ signaling the beginning of the reception! The BBQ pit was loaded in true-Ritter fashion. The party continued with cake, speeches and first dances. Ryan & his mother showed off their Rusler-style dance moves…which must have been contagious! From the well dressed youngsters who put their dance moves on display…to the adults whom, apparently have seen “Step it Up and Dance” a few times…(seriously, this crew can dance like none I’d ever seen!), the party kept going till the break-a-dawn!…or at least longer than I could stay on my feet!
The entire celebration was truly memorable ~ a joyous occasion which I was happy to document. Congratulations to the Rusler & Ritter families; you guys have a newly enhanced family to celebrate! You can find my favorite captures below! Enjoy 😉
